My favourite club is the duplex (but on week) because there is too many people on the weekends! There are also many popular bars among students, like the Dog bar.
Which classes do you recommend… or not?
I loved my foundation class in entrepreneurship, but I don't recommend corporate finance.
Do you have some tips?
The campus has some areas that are a bit old and others that are modern. On the first floor of the SB building, there's a great place to work, and there are lots of spots around the university.
Best trips to do?
There are plenty of small day trips to do around Prague: Karlovy Vary, Kutna Hora... And great options for bigger destinations like Krakow, Budapest, Vienna, Berlin...

Never forget to have your transport pass, because the inspectors don't joke around and easily issue fines.

If I had to live in Prague again, I would go to the same type of apartment. Okay, it was quite expensive but the location was very good, I had everything near the flat and the neighborhood was very quiet so overall, it was almost perfect in the apartment I was in.
What are some top bars, clubs, or events you recommend?
For the best street in Prague for night life I would go with Melantrichova which gives you access to the Astronomical Clock in the city center. There's a lot of bars and pubs there including an Irish Pub with a very good atmosphere so I recommend it for sure ! Then for clubs, it depends on which type of music you like to listen to. If you like more commercial and international music I recommend the Duplex which is for me the best club in Prague for international students. Then if you like more techno music, then you'll have a huge variety of famous clubs and others more underground that you can try like the EPIC or the Fuchs2. Other than that, I recommend you to go to football games or hockey games in Prague because the atmosphere there are among the best I ever tried in my life !
Which classes do you recommend… or not?
For the classes I recommend you the World Economy class which is very complete, the teacher is very interesting and you can expect a lot of interesting stuff about the world we're living in. Then of course the czech class could be interesting if you want to be better integrated in the city and the country (if you take the easiest level, it's not that difficult). If you take courses like International Business Operations you can expect a consequent amount of work. This class is demanding and you'll need to be focus if you want to pass it.
Do you have some tips?
Studying at VSE in Prague was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The university has a strong academic reputation, and I was genuinely impressed by the level of the courses and the dedication of the professors. They were always approachable and ready to help if I needed anything. The students were incredibly friendly too, which made it easy to feel at home and build connections quickly. One tip I’d give is to get involved in student activities early on, it’s a great way to meet people and make the most of your time there. Also, don’t hesitate to explore Prague beyond the tourist spots. If I had to choose again, I’d pick VSE without a second thought.
Best trips to do?
One of the best parts of studying in Prague was how easy it was to travel to nearby cities. I took unforgettable trips to Budapest, Bratislava, and Vienna, all just a few hours away by train. Budapest was vibrant and full of life, with its thermal baths and ruin bars offering a unique charm. Bratislava felt cozy and underrated, perfect for a relaxed weekend getaway. But Vienna truly stole the show for me. The city’s elegance, its museums, palaces, and cafés made me feel like I’d stepped into a different era. I spent hours wandering through Schönbrunn and sipping melange in historic coffeehouses. If you’re in Prague, don’t miss Vienna, it’s the kind of place that lingers in your memory long after you’ve left.
What do you absolutely need to know to live your best life in Prague?
Living in Prague was incredibly comfortable and surprisingly affordable. Coming from France, I found the cost of living low whether it was groceries, or eating out, everything felt much more budget-friendly. The public transport system was a dream : clean, reliable, and super efficient, with trams and metros running like clockwork. I always felt safe walking around the city, even late at night, which gave me a real sense of peace. The weather was mostly sunny, which I loved, although it could get quite cold in the winter, so layering up was essential. And the food ? Delicious ! From hearty Czech dishes like svíčková to trendy international spots, there was always something tasty to discover.

It was cheap and there were lots of students and activity but I would not recommend it. If you want to live in a dorm (that I recommend, it's really nice to meet other erasmus students), choose Masarykova (Masaryk dormitory, right next to the CVUT). It's much cleaner, has better rooms and furnitures, closer to the Uni and Prague's center, etc. It's worth the price. If you MUST live in Strahov, choose the block 8. It's the most recent building and is slightly better than others.
What are some top bars, clubs, or events you recommend?
Too many cool bars and places to see. If you want to go to a club, avoid Epic club and the 5 story-club. Duplex and Roxy are better. Definitely check for concerts in Prague, the prices are really low
Which classes do you recommend… or not?
Do not try to learn Czech except if you absolutely want to, the language is in the top 5 hardest to learn worldwide. In Engineering, the Reverse Engineering course is very interesting but extremely time consuming and complex for its many projects. I'd still recommend it if you're into it but be careful.
Do you have some tips?
The campus is great, would go there again. There are 2 menza (uni restaurant) with great prices for good czech dishes.
Best trips to do?
Prague is very central in Europe. I recommend going to the Karlstejn Castle and the hike to the canyon nearby, Visit the Pilsen brewery, Going to Krakow in Poland and visit the salt mine, and visit Auschwitz on the way back... Vienna is an awesome destination but needs more than a few days for visiting it.
What do you absolutely need to know to live your best life in Prague?
Living costs are low and beer is cheaper than water You NEED to use the app "pid litacka" for transports, it has everything and is so much better than google maps for prague.

I recommend entrepreneurship with Tomas salidek really nice teacher, retail business also nice and he teaches for fun so it’s good vibe, international business…..

500-600 for single room but less for shared room
Where was it located?

How can someone find this place?
Just type vse talejova dormitory
Would you recommend it?
Yes good dorm but old. I recommend single room for privacy and space if possible and it would be stiff less expansive than the Airbnb (~800-1000€per months ). Plus the tram is really near, you can meat other students, there is a kitchen in the main room ! Go for the dorm 100%
What are some top bars, clubs, or events you recommend?
A lot of bars and clubs. I really lived the bars bc of the beers and the general ambiance! I don’t do clubs unfortunately but I heard good about them
Which classes do you recommend… or not?
I recommend entrepreneurship with Tomas salidek really nice teacher, retail business also nice and he teaches for fun so it’s good vibe, international business operation class was hard for me at the beginning just because the teacher was strict at first but then the final was easy and I loved this course very interesting it was the best one and the best grade I had ( no homework) just team projects but it’s in every classes. I DO NOT recommend doing business in globalized environments since the class is hard and didn’t caught my attention and plus the final was too picky ( if you answer bad the first question then it’s going to affect the rest of the answers so easy to fail)
Do you have some tips?
The school is good and good experimented teachers. Good ranked uni and a lot of exchange students. Pretty modern and chill schedule ( classes are divided in lectures and seminars) the lectures are not mandatory so you can not go sometimes it is ok if you have hangover 😉
Best trips to do?
I went to Budapest with a friend and it was cool and close to cz.
What do you absolutely need to know to live your best life in Prague?
I mean you just have to relax you are exchange students have fun and meet people ! Do not stress it is an European country so it’s really similar to France just not the same money and buildings but it’s ok you gonna get used to it ! Do not be scared to go to bars even alone you gonna meet people and just to have fun ! Don’t be scared to take the tram and go visit some stuff randomly it’s really accessible and cool ! I recommend kafka museum, national museum and mucha museum. I forgot the names of the bars I like but you will find a good ones for sure !

Would you recommend it?
Honestly, you can find cheaper accommodation. I recommend Prague 2 to be close to the school because everything is accessible. Otherwise, there is student accommodation offered by the school for between €150 and €250 per room, or there are quite a few shared apartments in the city.
What are some top bars, clubs, or events you recommend?
The Popocafepetl bar is the cheapest dance bar. It's quite well-known, but there's the Duplex club for commercial music and Epic for techno. There are quite a few events with ErasmusinPrague, an Instagram account that offers WhatsApp groups where they post all the events they organize. The atmosphere is never boring.
Which classes do you recommend… or not?
I recommend all the courses with Mr. Felipe Martinez. One of the best teachers in my opinion. All the courses are interesting and very high quality. I had a mandatory study path, so courses that I hadn't chosen but which allowed me to learn a lot. The teachers are all attentive and present as soon as we have questions.
Do you have some tips?
The university is great. The campus is also large, with a mix of old and new buildings. But I assure you, it's easy to find your way around. If I had to make a choice again, I would have chosen it again without hesitation. Registration is quite simple, but it's worth noting that those with the most valid credits are the first to choose their course.
Best trips to do?
The Erasmus in Prague association offers quite a few trips. I've done some outside of the association, to Warsaw, Krakow, and Berlin. There are plenty of opportunities. Discounts on flights and train tickets with the school's student card. I also went to Kutna Hora, a small town not far from Prague, as part of a seminar with anthropology course, which is really great.
What do you absolutely need to know to live your best life in Prague?
Life in Prague is slightly less expensive than in France (around €2 for food and /2 for alcoholic drinks). For transport, everything is done on the Pid app or you can buy tickets on the metro. I'm a girl and I always felt safe. The weather isn't that cold, but I still recommend taking a jacket with you, but don't forget your t-shirt. The temperatures are the same as in the north of France, so you can compare.
