https://www.airbnb.fr/rooms/578577220485558421?source_impression_id=p3_1765199592_P3sMDdns136xfS0R (there are 3 rooms in the airbnb, you can find them on the host profile)
Would you recommend it?
The place is nice in itself, there's enough space, AC, heating and it is well located (5min from subway station with line 2 and 6 so gets you in a lot of places in the city, and 5min from bus station). But the host sometimes comes in randomly and you cannot bring other people in the apartment which can be a bit annoying.
What are some top bars, clubs, or events you recommend?
Party and club = Hongdae, Corner Pub has a lot of international people, really chill For chill bars = Mullae-dong is quite nice
Which classes do you recommend… or not?
Curatorial Studies for Korean Cultural Exchange - Recommend if you like to do/imagine some art projects, kinda philosophy, the teacher asks for a lot of in class participation Politics of Religion and Ghosts - Interesting, would recommend, the teacher is chill in terms of exams and it is on subjects unusual to study (how ghosts, the memory of the dead still haunt present day society) Introduction to Korean Religion - woudn't recommend that much, really repetitive Korean Society and Media
Do you have some tips?
The campus is nice, Id choose the same university again. Registration was pretty easy and overall quick response from the administration. I wouldn't recommend staying in the dorms from what I heard (mold problems at the beginning of the year, penalty point system, but the curfew isn't strict, you can do stay out at night easily, you just cannot leave the dorms anymore after midnight if you're still in). You can get cheap lunch on campus (cafeteria, buffet, and some uni restaurants, but id recommend trying out the different places that are by the street at the backgate towards daehung station (line 6))
Best trips to do?
Really easy to take a bus or train to everywhere in korea, I highly recommend tongyeong, and if you like hiking, jirisan is really nice as well by staying in gurye) I did a trip Jeonju - Gurye - Hadong - Tongyeong - Jinju during Chuseok and it was alway possible to take a train or bus last minute
What do you absolutely need to know to live your best life in Seoul?
Take the climate card if you take public transportation 2 times a day or more it will save you a lot of money. In the subway check which car to get in with naver to be the closest to the exit. For good cheap food go to the places that are held by old people and that don't have a lot of different things on the menu.

What are some top bars, clubs, or events you recommend?
Not lot of bars, best clubs in Hongdae and Itaewon

I had English Debate and Public Speaking, easy, we had to do 3 presentations and that is all! Academic English the level is very low, so very easy but not very interesting. Intermediate Accounting and Financial Management are interesting but you'll need to work a little. Production Management same quiet easy
Do you have some tips?
The campus was very cool, very big and cute. Registration was quiet hard, and not very international friendly. I liked the uni, but I would recommend to pick a univ closer to international neighboorhood like Hongdae

Yes, the location is perfect (center of seoul, near a big subway station, very dynamic and lively area + in the university) and the rooms are big (the rooms have 3 pieces : the two bedrooms separated with wall/door so we have intimacy and the bathroom). the only thing is that we can't bring people or eat cooked food in it but it is still okay, we don't have any curfew and there are fridges + diningroom + fitness center + workingroom. i think I would pick the same place since it is very cheap for what we have and rbnb are too expensive
What are some top bars, clubs, or events you recommend?
The clubs in Seoul are the best clubs I ever tested; they are free and it is very easy to have free drinks too. Plus the clubs are reunited in whole streets in different aeras of seoul which is so cool since there are so much people of our age in the same street, all going to party like us so it is easy to make friends and meet students from everywhere. also the students clubs of Hanyang provide great visits around the country
Which classes do you recommend… or not?
I do not recommend microelectroniccircuits since it demands a lot of work (we have lab practice and we must send two reports by week) so it is very time consuming. I would recommend the online korean class which is very helpful
Do you have some tips?
The campus is incredible, very nice, there are convenient stores, cafes and restaurant everywhere + the sport complex is huge, you can do every sport you want, there is also a fitness center + basketball/football/baseball field + tennis court,.... I would pick the same uni, it was really cool and in the center of seoul so perfect ! the registration was easy, they answer emails really fast

I would take the same appartment if I had too. The organization of leasing is very functionnal, no problem to get housing document (it is important in order to fullfill FRC card). When I had a problem with my bathroom, I get intervention very fast.
What are some top bars, clubs, or events you recommend?
Hongdae and Itaewon are well-known for being best places to club and they are. It is possible to have a lot of free drinks with a bit of negotiation and some karaoke are very good. I recommend to try different places to karaoke because some are better than others.
Which classes do you recommend… or not?
Before selecting classes, some resume are accessible, those are very straightforward and explicit. You can know a lot about a course with them, so I just recommend to go through them.
Do you have some tips?
The campus is big and beautiful. Classrooms are confortable. Registration to Hanyang was easy, but the part where you need to send the school certification for the FRC is a bit tricky, you need to go on the campus, print the certification and then scann the document to send it online.

Would you recommend it?
In the dormitories, you are two per room. For males, you share the same room, but for females, you each have your own room and only share the bathroom. So if you are a girl, this option is quite good. Moreover, you’re close to the plaza, where you can eat good meals for €2.50. You should know that you need to go up and down the hill from the dormitories to the classrooms or the plaza ( it’s a bit difficult at first, but you get used to it quickly). Staying in the dormitories is a great advantage: it’s much easier to meet new people and build relationships with them.
What are some top bars, clubs, or events you recommend?
Itaewon (Hive, Fountain, 25...), Hongdae (Mongs, B1...) In wangsimni, there is a great rooftop bar called on NaverMap : Sinsa Lady Yeoreobun Pocha
Which classes do you recommend… or not?
I took Algorithm Analysis, C++, Software Engineering, Launch Your Start Up and Korean for Beginners. Classes really depends on the teacher. I really recommand Algo Analysis and C++, it is interresting and not to difficult for exchange student. For software engineering, I think I just don't have the best teacher. It is only theorical classes in a subject where you have to experiment to learn so a bit disapointing. Some friends took the same subject with an other teacher and have some interresting project to do, have met LG and so on. Launch your StartUp is not that interresting but you have juste to watch some videos and the quiz are easy Korean for beginner is really interesting and usefull I clearly recomand it. Same you have to watch video and the mid terms are easy When you choose your course, you can check the programm, week by week and I think it is really important to refer to it when you choose your classes

The housing was perfect! Simple Spaces is like a little community for exchange students. You rent a room in a house, and you can book with friends or share with strangers who (usually) end up becoming friends. They even organize events so everyone can meet — super cool vibe. Try to live in the center (Itaewon or Myeongdong). The school is a bit far, but you’ll only have classes 3–4 days a week, so it’s manageable.
What are some top bars, clubs, or events you recommend?
Bobo Wake Up (@bobowakeup on Instagram) : a French DJ based in Seoul, highly recommended! Hongdae & Itaewon for clubs: Itaewon → more techno-focused ; Hongdae → more commercial vibes La Luz (Hongdae) : a fun bar with games. You just pay for your drink, and you can play beer pong and other games. Great spot to hang out!
Which classes do you recommend… or not?
Honestly, the system for choosing classes is super hard to figure out. You’re basically competing with Korean students and everything happens really fast, so you don’t really get to choose your classes. Most of the courses are about international business, which is pretty interesting. The Public Choice class was awesome — lots of debates, great student participation, and the professor was really cool.
Do you have some tips?
The campus is really cool — it looks like Greek-style buildings. Food is cheap, and there’s a coffee shop plus a mini-market right on campus. Students are super open to meeting new people since they’re all learning a foreign language, so it’s easy to have great conversations and make friends.
Best trips to do?
Definitely go for a hike at Bukhansan — amazing views and super close to the city. Take a 1-week trip to Busan for beaches and chill vibes. And Jeju Island is a must! It’s considered a real treasure in Korea — stunning landscapes and nature. The semester starts in March, so you’ve got time to travel around Asia before classes kick in: Japan (3h flight, about €150 round trip), Philippines, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia...
What do you absolutely need to know to live your best life in Seoul?
Korea can feel a bit superficial at first because so many coffees shop and spots are designed for Instagram pics but that’s part of the charm, and everything is super pretty. Learn a few basic Korean phrases, young people speak english but not everyone. Public transport is great, clean and super efficient. Get a T-money card for buses and subways. Download Naver Maps or KakaoMap (Google Maps doesn’t work well here), and Papago for translations. Try local food beyond Korean BBQ (tteokbokki, bibimbap) and street food (not in Myeongdong tho)
enjoy !

I was scared of sharing a room at first, but from my experience it was nice. I really liked my roommate. The room itself was a nice size, and the bathroom is nice too. We don’t have a kitchen however, only a microwave, hot/cold water, and a freezer/fridge combo.
What are some top bars, clubs, or events you recommend?
There is always something to do, everywhere and for everyone. I personally am not a fan of the clubs as either the music sucks or it is DISGUSTING.
Which classes do you recommend… or not?
I personally don’t like my classes. Most professors speak both Korean and English during class, as most Koreans don’t speak a lot of English. I recommend to take at least 1 course with just a class of exchange student to meet internationals.
Do you have some tips?
I love the view we have from uni. There are a lot of events on campus, most are in Korean though. Travel takes a little longer because you have to walk about 15-20 minutes to the nearest metro stations, although there are also some buses nearby. Most of the places are a maximum of 1 hour of travel, including the walk. Registration was relatively easy. It took a while until we got all are documents for our visa application and definite approval of admission. The proces of applying for the dorms and RC was stressful and a hassle.
Best trips to do?
You can go anywhere you want from Seoul. I definitely recommend doing weekend trips and day trips to cities like, Busan or sokcho and Jeju island before receiving your RC. If you have the time and money, going to Japan or china is also a good option after receiving your RC.
What do you absolutely need to know to live your best life in Seoul?
To honest, you can make your semester in Seoul as expensive as you want. Food is more expensive then I expected, around ~15€ per day. I do like some good food though. Transport is really easy here, and only around 1€ per trip. If traveling a lot, I would recommend buying the climat card. You should definitely go with the flow when traveling within Seoul and see what the day has to offer, as you always end up in something fun and new.

Would you recommend it?
I live in a Goshiwon. If you prefer to be on your own then it can be a bit nicer to live in a place like this. You only share the kitchen and sometimes the bathroom. Goshiwons are known for having a small budget room, so do watch out for that! I thankfully picked a bigger room, with more storage and space! Also goshiwon rooms usually dont have any windows so if you prefer to have that than maybe look for another place. I recommend a shared house, it may be a bit more expensive. However, you have more space, and you also have roommates. If I could go back in time and choose again then I would pick either a shared house. A studio would also be a good option, if you prefer to be on your own. I think goshiwons are just too small (even if I have a bigger room compared to the standard goshiwons rooms), and I also have and buy lots of stuff so I would want more space to store it.
What are some top bars, clubs, or events you recommend?
I don't party, but I do join some events that are related to the culture or even certain activity related events. You have many of those events, and I really enjoy them. Its also fun to meet new people and try new things.
Which classes do you recommend… or not?
It depends on the guidelines you have from your home university and your own preferences. I would definitely suggest to do some Korean culture or language related classes! Also check in the syllabus what you have to do for that particularly course. You have some courses that requires you to do assignments, reports, presentations and exams. It's in my opinion too much. If there is a course where you only have to do 1-2 things to pass it, then I suggest you choose that one.
Do you have some tips?
Campus is cool, very big and also a bit north of Seoul. It is very different from my campus (we have basically nothing). You do have to walk uphill sometimes, because its near a mountain. The good thing about that is you can go for a random hike whenever you want. Its near Bukhansan (national park), which is a famous hiking spot in Seoul. Registration went with ups & downs. There was a delay sometimes or we had send the documents again etc. However, in the end everything worked out! You do have to keep an eye on things to make sure you're on time with delivering the documents or if you need to receive something from the university, then make sure to email them if you think it takes too ling. If there were other choices, I would probably pick a different uni, but this was the only option in Seoul for business students. International business students have more options though!
Best trips to do?
It’s really easy and cheap to travel around here, and there are many places to visit if you’re in Korea. I recommend going to Busan and Jeju Island for at least a few days. A short weekend won’t do them justice!
What do you absolutely need to know to live your best life in Seoul?
I suggest getting a climate card and a t-money card. You can find out online what the difference is, but in the long run a climate card is cheaper! Especially if you travel a lot with the public transport. The Korean Won is very weak, so with Euros everything is way cheaper than if you were to compare it to European cities. There are so many things to do here. I've been here for 2 months now, and I still haven't explored the entire city. The only thing that I struggle with is the food. I dont eat pork or beef, so its more difficult for me to find something to eat. The food here is also very sweet! From pizza to chips, bread, "spicy" sauces etc. Everything is sweet, which isnt really my cup of tea, but oh well.
I suggest living near or in the center of the city. Dorms usually have many rules, such as a curfew etc. I would avoid that, but on the other hand, it is cheaper. Bring food from back home, it will be nice to eat that every once in a while. Online you can find so much information on events etc, check it out! Also course registration is a bit different from my home uni. You need to register for your own courses and its first come, first served. I wanted to take a few courses, but soooo many people applied when the application period went open. It was already full in a few seconds. After trying again and again, it worked out!

I recommend it because it is very cheep for Seoul and it’s well located. However the apartment is very old fashion, small and not in good condition

Séoul is a very good city for student life. It’s easy to socialise with other exchange student in bars, clubs! There are two mains neighbourhoods with a lot of clubs and bars where all students go so it’s always very fun
Which classes do you recommend… or not?
I recommend mathematics classes like statistics, macroeconomics, corporate finance etc however in those courses the teacher doesn’t explain well the notion so it can be impressive at the first approach but after when you work by yourself it’s okay!
Do you have some tips?
The campus it’s old , there aren’t area where we can chill outside and inside it’s always full… The registration was very easy and the coordinator can easily help students with issues they can faced. I won’t pick the same university I think.

It’s difficult to travel outside South Korea before end of October, November because we have to do another Visa (alien card) and it takes time. However there are a lot of beautiful places within South Korea and Seoul so you won’t be dissatisfied with your trips !

The appartement has 3 to 4 rooms so you share the living place with 3 to 4 Korean students. The place where I lived was pretty clean but it could not be as clean as mine according to some of my friends.
What are some top bars, clubs, or events you recommend?
There are a lot of prepared event for international student such as bars, games, visits which are organised by other international students. Every Friday they organise a meet up with drinks and games to meet many other students. Some visits are also organised but by the school, international department.
Which classes do you recommend… or not?
If you like courses related to business administration or finance I may recommend you the financial engineering class and econometrics class: it was godlike especially the financial engineering class which the professor teaches us his course through his experience and his past as a quant !
Do you have some tips?
Campus was cool, registration is easy if you are undergraduate but if you want to register as a graduate it could be pretty tricky : you need recommendation letters, motivation letters for each class etc.
Best trips to do?
2 big cities to visit: Seoul (3 must see areas: gangnam, hongdae, myeongdong)+ temples and DMZ and busan which is more traditional. South Korea is also near china, Japan etc. So you can plan to go

It was nice because directly on campus. The room is convenient but very small. You live with one other person in the same room, the beds next to each other. Also, you don't have a kitchen, only a common room with approximately 8 chairs, 3 big fridges for everyone on the floor, and a micro-wave. It is forbidden to eat inside the rooms, only in the common room at each floor. The other facilities in the building are good : 2nd floor is a study floor, lavatory room, gym facilities, and downstears are a convinience store, a restaurant and the canteen. But the main advantage is really the price, because it is very cheap for this level of comfort and convinience. I highly recommend it.
What are some top bars, clubs, or events you recommend?
If you are part of the dorms, they will organize outings for you. Otherwise, you can enroll in some clubs, and there is a lot of bars, restaurants, karaokes, etc. around the campus. The events proposition is very diverse (always something to do or see on campus), but the main one is the spring festival.
Which classes do you recommend… or not?
I took corporate finance, behavioral finance, accounting and organizational process. I would say that the workload is a bit much compared to some other friends who did not chose this classes.
Do you have some tips?
Campus is very big, and the administration very helpful. I would definetely pick the same uni.

Do you have some tips?
Registration was easy, and they send all the process details via email. If you have any questions, they respond really quickly. The campus is surrounded by nature, making it a much better environment than living in Seoul with its pollution and overwhelming atmosphere. Also, it’s only a 1h20 ride to Myeongdong on the red bus 8100, so it’s not as far from Seoul as some might think.
Best trips to do?
Trips to do in Korea : 🌉Busan: A city in the south by the sea, with a completely different atmosphere from Seoul (3 to 4 days) 🎋Gyeongju: The previous capital, a place full of history (2 days) 🏖️Gangneung: A small city on the East Coast to relax by the beach (2 days) 🪖DMZ: The border with North Korea (1 day) 🏝️Jeju island : a beautiful roadtrip with a lot a unforgettable landscape and clear water (3 to 4 days) Ps: best option to rent a car because bus service is not that good in the island
What do you absolutely need to know to live your best life in Seoul?
📲 Best app : o NaverMap and KakaoMap instead of Google map o EZL Top-up (To follow your balance on you TMoney) o PAPAGO for translation Admin : o Registration Card process: Remember to bring a photo ID in the Korean format with you (the same photo you used for your visa is perfect). o Health Insurance: You can apply for an exemption from Korean health insurance thanks to an agreement between France and South Korea and you don’t need to provide any additional documents. Just head to this address with your Registration Card: 164‑1 Maegyo‑dong, Paldal‑gu, Suwon‑si, Gyeonggi‑do Night Life in Seoul : o Hongdae: Club (La Rosa); Bar/Arcade (La Luz) o Itaewon: It’s more foreigners‑friendly than Hongdae, and the people tend to be older. Clubs / Associations: In Dankook, you’ll have the opportunity to join a club if you wish. I was part of the ECC (English Conversation Club), which was super fun and great if you want to meet Koreans.
