In Dublin, it's so easy to avoid trying the bars and even the nightclubs. In September, when I first arrived, I remember going to a club every night, Monday through Saturday, for the first few weeks. There are a lot of French people in Dublin, so if you want to practice your English, it's not the ideal place. There are three French business schools, for example. As for nightclubs, I went to Deceys. It's an open-air club, and they have a DJ on Fridays. For cheap beer, go to Disndat, it's near Dublin Business School. And for really cheap beer, go to Silver Penny. If you want to learn English while meeting people from all over the world, go to Soho Club. As a French person, in Deceys you'll meet French people and there are French songs. The DBS student association organizes many events, so don't be afraid if you want to make friends.

If you're in Dublin, traveling isn't easy because trains and planes are expensive. You can easily get stuck on the islands. I traveled once, to Galway. I couldn't just fly to another country like that because it was too expensive. My friends in Asia, on the other hand, flew easily and visited many Asian countries.
What do you absolutely need to know to live your best life in Dublin?
Without a student transport card, (leap card) going out will cost you a lot. 2 euros in cash for each trip... otherwise, Dublin isn't all that attractive; there isn't that much to do. …

Prices are relatively cheaper and as you are living with a family, the house is generally well equipped. It is very risky however as some students have gotten scammed and even asked to move out randomly on short notice. Personally, I would choose another place closer to the university (if you cannot get the student accommodations) but I would recommend starting to search for housing on this website as early as May. However, this option is for those who have a lower budget. Go for other websites if you have a higher budget.

Which classes do you recommend… or not?
Discovering Ireland: Landscapes It is a module with no classes and you get to go on two field trips which allow you to discover and explore unique Irish historical landmarks that you would not otherwise visit. The assignment is a learning journal reflecting what you saw and learned during the trips. This module is mostly taken by exchange students.

What do you absolutely need to know to live your best life in Dublin?
Transport can be very annoying as bus delays often and cancels without prior notice. Sometimes there are cases where the bus doesn’t show up despite saying it will.
Look at the housing prices beforehand and stay as close to the university as possible. The commute will take a mental toll on you.

I was renting a room in a family house with two children (2 and 4 years old). The owners were really nice and kind, and the room was spacious, well equipped and bright. I had a private restroom and access to the bathroom and the kitchen. The location was perfect for me because my university was at 10min walk and it has a shopping center at 15min walk! The only few flaws were the price of the rental that was pretty expensive for a student (1000€/month) and the children who were often noisy. Apart from that, I liked my accommodation and I recommend it!
What are some top bars, clubs, or events you recommend?
The nightlife in Dublin is amazing!! People are always friendly and nice. With my friends, our favorite club was the Lost Lane, the music is great (especially in the razzmatazz parties), and we also liked the Dtwo for its French themed parties. The district of Temple bar is perfect for hanging out with friends in a irish vibe. It’s important to note that the most of clubs and bars close early compared to France (2am)

Employee Relations Procedures : I recommend this course, pretty easy and interesting
Do you have some tips?
Yes the campus is very cool, it has a nice sport complex (gym club, olympic pool, spa, football field…), some restaurants and even a pharmacy and a mini market! The university is used to international student, so the registration is easy and there is a lot of international students in class with you. There is also a lot of clubs & socs (chess, trampoline, sports, dance, maths, cheerleading…), and often various events on the campus with a good vibe!

What do you absolutely need to know to live your best life in Dublin?
What you absolutely need to know is that the cost of living is quite similar to France, so you won’t experience a major shock when it comes to prices for groceries or going out. The city is very safe overall, with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, though (as in any big city) it’s always a good idea to stay alert late at night. The weather in Dublin also tends to get an unfair reputation. It’s not as rainy or grey as people often imagine. In fact, during my stay, it was even better than in France! You’ll quickly get used to the changing skies and learn to always keep a light jacket or umbrella handy. When it comes to getting around, the Leap Card is an absolute must. It’s a rechargeable travel card that lets you hop on buses, trams (Luas), and trains within Dublin. Once validated, it allows unlimited travel for 90 minutes. Even better, students benefit from heavily discounted fares, paying roughly half the regular price, which makes public transport both easy and affordable.

I stayed in a six-person apartment with my own room and bathroom. The building was fairly clean and new. However, the common areas of the apartment were constantly dirty (but that depends on the roommates you end up with). It was convenient for getting to class, as it was a one-minute walk from the school buildings. However, it was more difficult to go out and get to Dublin city center (accessible by direct bus in 30 minutes). But given how few classes we had, I would have preferred to stay in the center (Yugo-type residence, for example). The rent was still relatively expensive for the service offered, but real estate prices are very high overall in Dublin.
What are some top bars, clubs, or events you recommend?
Best party streets was in Temple Bar I recommend going to the Dicey's or the Camden I hope you like Guiness
Which classes do you recommend… or not?
I chose courses focused on marketing and digital marketing. The courses were really interesting for once. I had one course per week for each subject, and six subjects, so six courses per week. All my courses were grouped together over two consecutive days, which gave me five days off to visit places and go on trips.
Do you have some tips?
Yes, the facilities were very good. The only thing was that the campus wasn't in the city center, but about 30 minutes away by bus.
Best trips to do?

What do you absolutely need to know to live your best life in Dublin?
The city center is fairly compact and easy to explore on foot. The city is served by an extensive bus network and there are a few trams. The city has many cultural attractions (Trinity College, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin Castle, Phoenix Park, etc.). It is a very young, cosmopolitan, student-oriented city. St. Patrick's Day will remain a memorable highlight of my exchange! As Ryanair is an Irish airline, there are flights from Dublin to all major European cities at unbeatable prices (€50 return), making it easy to visit Europe!

My accommodation was decent, located near Croke Park. It was a basement studio. Very expensive for what it is, and I don't recommend North Dublin, which is less welcoming and a bit more "dangerous" than the South of Dublin.
What are some top bars, clubs, or events you recommend?
If you want to have a good time in Dublin, there's obviously Temple Bar (but it's very expensive because of the many tourists). My favorite bar is Bad Bobs, which turns into a bit of a nightclub on weekends. There's also a less touristy street near The Market Bar, a bar-restaurant. For student nights, I recommend Lost Lane (tickets can be bought online) and also Dicey's. I also had great times on the MV Cill Airne, a boat docked on the Liffey — the pints there aren't too expensive compared to the touristy spots. A very beautiful bar/restaurant worth seeing is Little Pyg, and they have really good pizzas!
Which classes do you recommend… or not?

I really enjoyed my experience at ISB, especially the teachers — they’re all amazing. From what I understood, there isn’t a fixed campus; the premises change every year. I don’t have any particular recommendations for the school — if I had to do it all over again, I would choose it again.
Best trips to do?
Thanks to the school (which organized trips and guided visits for us), we were able to go to Galway, the Cliffs of Moher, and Belfast. If I had to recommend one trip to take while you're in Dublin, it would be Galway — the landscapes there are stunning. You also have the option to visit the islands just off the coast of Galway and spend the day there. And of course, don’t miss the traditional pubs and Irish music, which I’ll never get tired of!
What do you absolutely need to know to live your best life in Dublin?
To get around Dublin using buses and the tram (the Luas), you need a card called the Leap Card. There are student fares, and the journeys aren’t that expensive. You can top up the card using your phone. The city is fairly well connected, even though I walked a lot. As for the weather no surprise, it rains a lot in Dublin, and you can experience all four seasons in a single day, so never go out without your umbrella! Regarding safety, to be honest, there’s a lot of poverty (mainly due to the high cost of rent in Dublin), and unfortunately, quite a few people are dealing with drug issues. But to reassure you these people don’t bother anyone; they live their lives, and you live yours. It’s still something to be aware of, especially in North Dublin. As for the people they are generally very kind. The cost of living is quite high. You can do your grocery shopping at Lidl, which has reasonable prices. Too Good To Go is also a good option. When it comes to eating out, there are lots of local specialties (you should try everything it’s all really good!). In stores, it’s pretty much the same as what we have back home, except for alcohol and puff or shortcrust pastry you won’t find those!
I really enjoyed my experience in Dublin, and if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s a real change of scenery the weather, the pace of life, the pubs, the music, and the overall vibe of the city are all quite different. One of the nicest things is Dublin during Christmas it’s beautiful. Also, flights to London are really cheap!

For transportation you need to order a leap card allowing you to travel in Dublin by bus. It is a card you can recharge by adding money on it, each travel costs 1€ if you have the student status. The weather is unfortunately very rainy, however during winter it was not that cold to me Cost of living is not that high except for housing
Irish people are absolutely lovely, I miss them a lot I am sure you will miss the country as I do when you are back to your home country ! It was such a nice experience !
