Yes, I’d recommend it. The biggest positives were the mood with almost all exchange students there, great location, and good facilities (gym/pool) which made daily life easy during the exchange. The only downsides were Bangkok traffic and warm humidity.
What are some top bars, clubs, or events you recommend?
Khao San Road, Soi Cowboy (ping pong shows, striptease), Pastel (for Thursday evenings), Apartment 101, Levels,... Try to find promoters to have free entry and alcohol in clubs.
Which classes do you recommend… or not?
You can change your courses until one month after the beginning of the semester. However, I recommend get your place in the classes before because some are full fast. Some teachers make the attendance but it's rare.
Do you have some tips?
The campus is amazing, huge, like American campuses. Registration could be little bit tricky so make it before arriving, especially for Student Visa. Chulalongkorn University is the best of the country but most of classes are still very easy.
Best trips to do?
You can take any plane you want from Bangkok for cheap, so I recommend travel : In Thailand : Khao Sok, Kho Phi Phi,... Abroad : Vietnam, Indonesia (Bali), China, Laos, Cambodge, Philippines.
What do you absolutely need to know to live your best life in Bangkok?
7-Eleven is your emergency supply chain. Safety is amazing. You can have trips with accommodations for less than 10€ a night, 20€ the night bus. However, even if everything is really cheap, at the end is can cost a lot if you don't track your expenses.

What do you absolutely need to know to live your best life in Bangkok?
Food is great, collective transports are good but not that expanded, on the other side taxis are really affordable (especially scoots). The life is great, with some parks, commercial centers, museum, temples, rooftops... But it is good to exit the city from time to time (too much pollution).
The country is very safe and the people nice, be aware of scams when renting scooters and vaccinate yourself

A lot of space for one person, queen bed, tv, fridge, microwave, bathroom well designed, desk, enough space for everything, washing machine. The residence offers a lot of shared areas: gym, cinema, pools, shared kitchen, darts, billard, ping pong, working areas. Everything is designed for a student life, shuttle buses are free to go to the Main Street. However if I can just have a negative point: there is no cooktop, you cannot cook for yourself but life in Thailand is really cheap so it is not really a problem. Plus, there is no WiFi.
What are some top bars, clubs, or events you recommend?
Blur is a good bar, but only Thai music. A lot of restaurants are near the university, really easy to find
Which classes do you recommend… or not?
Marketing and business English are quite easy, there are a lot of groups works and not a lot of individual assignments. Really easy to follow, there are no lectures that are complicated
Do you have some tips?
The campus is really huge, you have free shuttle to move from each building, a lot of cafeteria, inside the school you can find a seven eleven, dental clinic, little hospital, many ares to eat and get some rests, a library, computer space The registration is really easy, if you have a problem, a good team is here to help you, they response really fast Yes I recommend this school

YES, definitely: crazy rooftop pool, good gym, good looking facilities and room good enough, especially for the price. This is a good middle for someone who wants to actually live in the city and not an exchange student cluster like Nonsi. Good for non-Thai speaking as most of the area is catered for expats
What are some top bars, clubs, or events you recommend?
Khao San Road is a must do but not that good TBH, rooftop bars are chill but avoid the very known one (too pricy, strict on clothing, and sometimes plain atmosphere - BKK is the capital of rooftops bars so remember you'll always find a better). Coco walk for an all-you-can drink and market experience. W-market for a "european plaza" experience if you miss terraces
Which classes do you recommend… or not?
Did Chula MBA, not a lot of course choices but there are 2 I'd definitely recommend: - BMC (Branding) from the MBM is the best course in the Business School, amazing teacher and topics, although in the Tuesday (rest of the courses are on the weekends) - Crafting & Executing Strategy, Sunday morning but cool teacher & interesting topics Overall all courses are quite low-level if you are a Masters student in Europe, but know that marketing courses are often filled with group works: good way to get to know thai people, but honestly tired me by their unusefulness.
Do you have some tips?
The best uni in Bangkok and not even close: - Academically: the best in Thailand and this is recognized by everyone, good teachers and crazy interventions by professionals (got a top executive from AirAsia & Singha so far in only 2 months). - Campus: right in the middle of the city and honestly one of the most enjoyable areas to walk-in: easy to reach, restaurants and foodcourts everywhere, trees, libraries to chill/work... - Facilities: AMAZING, easy-going libraries open 24/7, cheap restaurants and coffee, shops for school furnitures, Free buses on campus, Free doctors that will help you for pretty much anything (outside of serious illness or injuries, they will send you to the hospital in a free ambulance if they can't treat you). - Administration: quite difficult and old for exchange students, this will take quite some time and take into consideration that they're always very LONG (that's an administration haha), but some processes are surprisingly easy like insurance claims
Best trips to do?
You can plan pretty much everything last minute: as long as you pay, they will take you. And often it's quite cheap. For the trips, there are PLENTY: For Nature: - Khao Yai National Park: very cool, take 3 days with hostel in pak chong and book tours to the park, good to see wild animals and small mountain scenery - Kanchanaburi: same but with WW2 vestiges - Khao Sok: most known in Thailand, crazy lake and nature, can turn expensive though if sleeping on the lake (though would recommend) - Pai: New backpacker spot, cool mountains in the North - Chiang Mai: classic lush forest, a thai classic - Lao: good nature and mountain trip - Ha giang Loop: a classic in the region, pretty sure everyone knows Beach: - Bang Saen: good day trip from Bangkok, closest beach but def not the best - Hua Hin: good for a week-end trip - Koh Samet: the true beach experience closest to bangkok, don't plan more than 3 days as it is very small but good getaway from the city - Koh Chang, Koh Koot, Koh Mak: archipelago not so far from bangkok, very good for the mix of nature, beach and also good food + kinda local atmosphere - Koh Tao : for scuba diving - Koh Phangan : for full moon party - Koh Samui: classic turisty island - Phuket/krabi for a good mix of nature/party and for boxing camps - Koh Phi Phi, Lanta City Trips: - Singapore - Kuala Lumpur - Hanoi - Ho chi Minh City - Hong Kong, Shenzen, Guangzhou - Chongqing Also easy and quite inexpensive to go to Beijing, Taipei, Tokyo or Seoul but requires more time, maybe better to stay in SEA especially for 1 semester City Trips
What do you absolutely need to know to live your best life in Bangkok?
Transport: - Live close (MAXIMUM 800m, would recommend under 500m) to a BTS (Sukhumvit Line top but Silom is still ok) or MRT Station (Blue Line only, forget the others) - Use BTS/MRT during peak hours, will save you a lot of time. For MRT use your bank card (verify you have no transaction fees before though) and for BTS go to the counter with your passport to have a Rabbit Card (for students under 23yo it's 10% discount on all rides), you can charge money on it and tap-in tap out. - Else, use Grab, the price varies for distance and timing but in low hours it's often cheaper than BTS/MRT (take GrabBike) and can take you anywhere quite fast, not for the weak though as it is not very safe (btw don't take it when the ground is wet, bangkok is a slippery city). - TEST, some of the best food/massage/coffee places are often not good looking but provide very good service and products, it is part of the local life - Scams exist but overall people are quite honest and you're almost never in physical danger so don't hesitate to talk to people, this can create good stories - Get close to the Thais at your school, they're often very easy going and are your only gateaway to real thai culture as they are amongst the few who speak good english. - Food and Ice cubes are often safe in bangkok, check for holes in Ice and the way cookers are dress, if there is no hole in the ice its risky and if the cook looks homeless then its even more risky. - Explore the neighbourhoods even those not hyped, can have good surprises - Thai people have their own conception of time and importance, expect them to be very loose on these and be patient - Thailand has quite a lot of rules but some are meant to be broken, quickly learn which should be respected (king, diffamation, Helmet)

When I arrived, I was located at Amarin Mansion (like the non official Thamassat student residence). It was perfect for school because it was like 8mins by bike. But It was very far from all the "daily activities" that I used to had : coffees, shopping, sports activities, cool area too visit (Chinatown, Talat Noi, Siam, etc). So I moved to Nonsi Residence 2months after, thanks to friends recommendation, and it was perfect !! 25mins by bike to go to Thamassat but I had like 2days of school by week so it was really okay. Nonsi had a pool, a gym, more international students welcoming and like 15mins bike from everywhere I wanted to go. Really enjoyed my time there and I regret the 2 first months.
What are some top bars, clubs, or events you recommend?
The more known street is Khao San but for me it's too touristic, too overwhelmed. I prefered more intimate bars but very cool for exchange students. The Warehouse Talat Noi : they always threw some events on the warehouse and at the first floor, at night, the vibe is very very good. DJ played with vinyls so good ! Pastel : rooftop bar with great view. French DJ. Free champaign on Thursday for girls. Bafros : so tiny club afro but really good music Havana Social bar : perfect good latino bar.
Which classes do you recommend… or not?
Every classes were really easy. No big test, lot of group assignment. I used to be in the GEMBA program and we had classes only on weekends. So good to planning travels within the week.
Do you have some tips?
University really great, same as Chula for me. Registration is very tardive (like October) but easy.
Best trips to do?
Go everywhere you can. Because of the weekend classes, we get to Thailand cities and islands within the week. Took the night bus on the Sunday evening and coming back with the night bus on the Saturday morning for class : 5 complete days on the island is good ! Chiang Mai is a must, if you have time go also to Pai, landscapes are good. Try every island as you can, but mostly Koh Tao, Koh Lipe and Koh Kood !
What do you absolutely need to know to live your best life in Bangkok?
I adoooore Bangkok. Even if you want to travel a lot, take time to enjoy Bangkok. It's very overwhelming when you stay juste 2/3 days because traffic is harsh, weather is hot etc. But if you stay longer and take time to discover places you'll love it. So much good area, markets, restaurants, rooftops... Go make a head spa, make some deals at Chatuchak Market, have a run in Benchakitti Park, play Basketball in Lumphini, try street food in Chinatown but good instagram coffee spot in Talat Noi... There is a lot, enjoy it !! But most important : take Grab and Bolt any time. Transport is too bad in Bangkok, subway good but not enough.
Enjoy your trip, it past in a second.

It was nice but there isn't any student in the building. The pool isn't the best but it's calm thanks to the soudproof windows. It's close to the greenline which is perfect to reach uni. The best accomodation according to all students is TPY5. It's a whole building for exchange students with a nice outdoor pool on the 5th floor, a gym and some other facilities. According to Googe maps it takes 40min of walk to reach Kasesart but it'd around 15 in reality. The reason is that there is a walking bridge to cross a road that the app is not aware of.
What are some top bars, clubs, or events you recommend?
Khaosan road is a crazy place to party at! There are also some very nice cheap "european standards" rooftops like Tichuca to enjoy the view
Which classes do you recommend… or not?
You can stack your courses into 3 days. I wouldn’t recommend Control of Industrial Robots. Statistics was a very easy course, and I really liked Algorithms and Data Structures as well as the AI course. Keep in mind that the courses you enroll in will be 2nd-, 3rd-, or 4th-year ones, but they’re all super easy. Some professors don’t have a very good level of English, but you can try different courses during the first week.
Do you have some tips?
The campus is cool, with very nice and cheap food, and there’s air conditioning everywhere (a bit too much sometimes). There are many exchange students, but Thai people are quite shy, and only a few of them have a good enough level of English to have meaningful conversations.
Best trips to do?
Everything is so beautiful and so cheap. You can book a full trip with boat and plane tickets to Koh Phi Phi, including accommodation, for only 125€. You should book everything on site when visiting countries like Cambodia and Vietnam (e.g., $10 for a guided visit of the floating village instead of $50 online). I’d recommend visiting as many cities as possible using their very cheap trains, but be careful when walking alone in farming areas because of dogs (a wooden stick is recommended). Visiting Angkor Wat in Cambodia is a must, and the floating village is also nice. In Vietnam, Ninh Binh is amazing. When leaving the country, you need to apply for a re-entry visa. When renewing your visa, make sure to go around 6 a.m., not later.
What do you absolutely need to know to live your best life in Bangkok?
Eat with the locals in the street—it’s cheaper and better than other places. Markets are also super nice. Malls always have food courts, and in most of them you need to take a card and load money onto it to pay. Buying groceries is more expensive, and fruits are much pricier near tourist areas. The fewer tourists, the cheaper it is. There are also very calm park areas near Chatuchak Park.

Which classes do you recommend… or not?
Master vs Bachelor is very different: Master: evening/weekend classes, older classmates (25–35, often working professionals), fewer exchange students, no events organized for integration Bachelor: many integration events Courses are group-work based, not very difficult, and professors are accommodating. Attendance is required (sign-in sheet) but flexible with professors. Best to choose classes by interest, workload, and to group them into 2 days for travel.
Do you have some tips?
Administrative office for exchange students is very slow to reply, frustrating for registration. Overall, Chula is a respected university in Thailand and internationally, stricter than some but higher quality.

- Transport: Grab is easiest, metro is cheaper but slower - Cost of living is very low (1 euro meals), only travel is expensive - Pad Thai over 60 baht = tourist trap - Safety: very safe, felt safer than in France
Choose your housing carefully, because integration comes mainly from your residence.
