Glasgow ha una solida offerta di università e una grande comunità internazionale. L'anno accademico segue il modello dei semestri scozzesi.

I semestri vanno da settembre a dicembre e da gennaio a maggio.
Dopo la Brexit, i cittadini UE non hanno più libera circolazione, quindi la maggior parte degli studenti non irlandesi ha bisogno di un permesso per studiare. Glasgow prende sul serio il suo cibo e la sua cultura, con una scena curry famosa e musei gratuiti di livello mondiale. I piaceri quotidiani sono economici e sostanziosi.
Glasgow rivendica l'invenzione del chicken tikka masala, e la sua scena curry non delude.
La Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum è gratuita e imperdibile.
Prova un roll con square sausage e un Tunnock's teacake.
West End, centro città e Southside hanno ciascuno un carattere e una fascia di prezzo ben distinti. Finnieston è diventata la meta preferita dai foodie.
Il West End per gli studenti, i caffè e i Botanic Gardens.
Finnieston per il cibo e i bar migliori.
Merchant City e il Southside per un mix di vita notturna e buon rapporto qualità-prezzo.
Glasgow è il punto di partenza più veloce per Highlands e isole, con anche Edimburgo vicinissima. Alcuni dei tragitti in treno sono attrazioni a sé stanti.
Loch Lomond è a circa 45 minuti, il primo assaggio più veloce delle Highlands.
Edimburgo è a circa 50 minuti di treno.
La West Highland Line verso Fort William e Mallaig è uno dei tragitti ferroviari più belli al mondo.
L'accento richiede un po' di orecchio ma l'accoglienza è genuina. Porta un impermeabile e stai attento alle rivalità calcistiche.
Dai tempo all'accento di Glasgow; una volta che ci prendi la mano è caldo e accogliente.
Porta un cappuccio invece di un ombrello, che il vento distruggerà.
Fai attenzione ai colori delle squadre di calcio che indossi il giorno del derby.

Yes because the building is very modern with everything you need (your own bathroom, well equiped shared kitchen). However, if you can get the university accomodation go for it. It make the experience 10x more fun.

There are so many pubs in Glasgow. I would recommend Hillhead Book Club (on thursdays for karaoke nights), Kitty O Sheas (for the live music), and Vodka Wodka for the student vibes.

From Glasgow you can visit many cities like Stirling or Edinburgh by taking the train (less that 20£ for a day trip). There are also many parks like Pollock Park where you can see highland cows. There are also many hikes around Glasgow that are accessible by bus.

The transports are easy to use but they don't run during the night, so after a night out you will have to walk are take a taxi. The west end and city center are safe to walk in late at night but if you have to cross the city it can be dangereous (like every big city). It rains a lot and there are a lot of puddles so bring boots.

Go to the association/sport club fair at the start of the semester and join a club !! I joined the ski club as a competitive member and it's how I met all my friends. Sport wednesdays go crazy too

Yes ! You’ll have flatmates so you need to be okay with sharing kitchen, bathroom and shower but you’ll have your own bedroom and sink. Also I think it is crucial to encounter people. I know some who prefered having their own apartment etc but they struggled to meet other internationnal students. Also it is next to everything in the city so really usefull. i really liked the experience and created cool friendships !

Amazing campus with big library where to work etc. Registration super easy. The uni sends a lot of emails so you’re not on your own. Also there is an assignement help department to help you in preparing exams or essays etc. Would recommend going

Isle of skye, Harry Potter train, Edinburgh (1h15-30 from glasgow, max 10pounds by bus). Would recommend taking the train and explore cities even if it is less famous. Went on tours with some companies cause without a car (under 25 it is expensive) it is complicated.

Yes, it was a pleasant experience. The student residence is located next to the campus and there are many activities offered to meet other students. The classes were interesting and the teachers are friendly. Paisley is a beautiful, quiet town close to Glasgow. I recommend it !

There are a few bars and nightclubs in Paisley, but the town is rather quiet in the evenings. It is recommended to go out in Glasgow, which is livelier and easily accessible by public transport.

The Paisley campus is great: it's big but easy to get to and it's easy to find your way around. There are lots of people and students available to help you. There's a large library, a cafeteria, and a gym available. It's a very nice campus. There are lots of different communities, which is great for meeting people from different cultures.

Paisley is a very quiet and relatively safe town. Glasgow, like all big cities, is dynamic and lively. Some places are to be avoided, but the majority of people are friendly. The Scots are a little cold at first, but remain very welcoming.

I recommend purchasing a train pass, which will save you a lot of money on travel, or renting a car if possible. It's important to book your trips well in advance to avoid excessively high prices.
I recommend traveling to the north of Scotland, hiking, and visiting castles. Finally, I recommend seeing Edinburgh over several days because it's a very rich city with many things to see and museums to visit.

The Wetherspoons are crazy, the Irish Pubs too. You have to start very early your nights cause everyone is in his bed at 2 or 3 am so I am able to recommend only bars

The electricity has to be paid by cards you buy at the post Office, so it's not like in France when you pay at the end of the month what you consumed. Except that go discover the lakes, campaign and Higlands of Scotland, go there, sleep there and be close to the nature which is incredible there :).
