Il semestre autunnale va da settembre a gennaio, quello primaverile da febbraio a luglio: arrivare a settembre significa clima caldo e festival cittadini prima dell'inverno.
Roma è la Città Eterna: strati su strati di storia, università enormi e una vita notturna sparsa tra piazze antiche. È caotica, bellissima e infinitamente appagante, anche se più cara e frenetica delle città italiane più piccole.

Studiare a Roma vuol dire vivere dentro un museo a cielo aperto, con il Colosseo, il Vaticano e 3.000 anni di storia come sfondo. Ospita la Sapienza, l'università più grande d'Europa, più Roma Tre, LUISS e John Cabot, quindi la popolazione studentesca è enorme e internazionale. La vita è più frenetica e costosa che altrove in Italia, ma la ricchezza della città non ha eguali.
Napoli è a un'ora e Firenze a circa 90 minuti con il treno ad alta velocità.
Solo la Sapienza conta oltre 100.000 studenti, quindi la scena internazionale è enorme.
La vita notturna si sparge tra San Lorenzo (il quartiere studentesco più grezzo vicino alla Sapienza), la vivace Trastevere, la hip Pigneto e i bar di Monti e Testaccio. Le serate romane iniziano tardi con un aperitivo in piazza e vanno avanti per ore. È una scena vasta e variegata, con qualcosa per ogni tasca e ogni gusto.
Bevi a poco con gli studenti a San Lorenzo vicino alla Sapienza, poi spostati a Pigneto.
Fai aperitivo e gira i bar tra i vicoli di Trastevere di sera.
Chiedi al gruppo Roma su Studcasa quali quartieri sono più adatti alle tue serate.
Roma è una delle città più care d'Italia, anche se sotto Milano: mettiti verso la fascia alta italiana, spinta soprattutto dall'affitto. Mangiare e bere possono comunque restare economici se segui gli studenti nelle zone giuste. Vivere più fuori lungo una linea di metro o tram è il risparmio più grande.
Mangia pizza al taglio e supplì al volo tra una lezione e l'altra per un paio di euro.
Condividi un appartamento a San Lorenzo, Pigneto o nelle zone periferiche per tenere l'affitto gestibile.
Prendi un abbonamento studenti Metrebus per girare la città illimitatamente a poco.
Il mercato degli affitti è competitivo e caro, quindi inizia presto e visita prima di pagare. Gli studenti prediligono San Lorenzo (vicino alla Sapienza), Pigneto, Ostiense e San Giovanni, oltre alle periferie più economiche sulla metro. Gruppi Facebook, Idealista e agenzie sono le vie principali, e le truffe sono comuni.
Cerca su Idealista e nei gruppi Facebook, e scrivi nel gruppo Studcasa Roma per stanze e segnalazioni.
San Lorenzo è ideale per chi studia alla Sapienza; Pigneto e Ostiense sono hip e un po' più economici.
Non pagare mai una caparra prima di visitare; le truffe sugli alloggi studenteschi sono diffuse a Roma.
La rete ATAC di Roma ha tre linee di metro, tram e una fitta rete di autobus, anche se la metro è limitata dalle rovine sotto la città. Un abbonamento studenti Metrebus copre tutto, e gran parte del centro si vive meglio a piedi. Il traffico è pesante, quindi evita di attraversare la città in auto o bus nelle ore di punta.
Compra un abbonamento stagionale Metrebus per studenti per metro, tram e bus illimitati.
Cammina per il centro storico: la metro ci arriva a malapena, ma i monumenti sono vicini tra loro.
Usa tram e bus per le zone che la metro non copre, e metti in conto tempo extra per il traffico.
Le università di Roma sono enormi: la Sapienza è la più grande d'Europa e forte in quasi ogni ambito, Roma Tre e Tor Vergata sono le principali opzioni pubbliche, e la LUISS è la miglior business school privata. Abbondano i programmi in inglese e gli studenti internazionali, oltre a istituzioni americane come John Cabot.
Il campus principale della Sapienza (Città Universitaria) si trova vicino a San Lorenzo; le altre facoltà sono sparse.
I programmi ESN e Erasmus buddy sono ampi e attivi: iscriviti presto per ambientarti.
Se sei cittadino UE o SEE non ti serve nulla oltre a registrare la tua residenza se rimani oltre 90 giorni. Gli studenti extra-UE hanno quasi sempre bisogno di un visto per studio di tipo D, da richiedere al consolato italiano prima della partenza, più prova di iscrizione, fondi e assicurazione sanitaria. Quello che ti serve esattamente dipende dalla tua nazionalità, quindi controlla con il tuo consolato per tempo.
Una volta in Italia, gli studenti extra-UE devono richiedere il permesso di soggiorno entro otto giorni dall'arrivo, usando un kit da ufficio postale e un appuntamento in questura. È lento e pieno di scartoffie, quindi porta fotocopie di tutto e mettiti l'anima in pace per le code. L'ufficio internazionale della tua università di solito ti accompagna nel processo.

La cucina romana è decisa e semplice: cacio e pepe, carbonara, amatriciana e gricia, più supplì, pizza al taglio, carciofi (alla romana e alla giudia) e maritozzi con la panna. Trastevere e Testaccio sono i quartieri classici dove mangiare. I pasti sono conviviali e senza fretta, e il caffè è un rito da consumare in piedi.
Ordina il quartetto della pasta romana: cacio e pepe, carbonara, amatriciana e gricia.
Fai uno spuntino con supplì e pizza al taglio, e prova i carciofi alla giudia nel vecchio Ghetto ebraico.
Mangia nelle trattorie di Testaccio e Trastevere dove fanno la fila i romani, non i turisti.
Trastevere è il quartiere da cartolina per la vita notturna; San Lorenzo è la zona studentesca e grezza vicino alla Sapienza; Monti è centrale e chic; e Testaccio è il cuore gastronomico e popolare. Pigneto è il quartiere hip e artistico, mentre Prati vicino al Vaticano è elegante e più tranquillo. Il centro storico è bellissimo ma costoso.
San Lorenzo: economico, grezzo e nel cuore della vita studentesca vicino alla Sapienza.
Trastevere: bello e vivace, ma più caro e turistico.
Pigneto e Ostiense: hip, più economici e ben collegati dal tram.
Il nodo ferroviario di Roma rende facili le fughe. Napoli è a un'ora e Firenze a 90 minuti con il treno ad alta velocità, mentre le ville di Tivoli, le rovine di Ostia Antica e i borghi del vino dei Castelli Romani sono gite brevi in zona. Orvieto, Assisi e la costa a Sperlonga completano le opzioni per il weekend.
Prendi il treno ad alta velocità per Napoli o Firenze per una giornata o un weekend fuori.
Visita Villa d'Este e Villa Adriana a Tivoli, o le rovine di Ostia Antica, con il treno locale.
Scappa nei borghi collinari dei Castelli Romani per il vino e un ritmo più lento.
Datti tempo: Roma è enorme, calda d'estate e rallentata dalla burocrazia, quindi la pazienza paga. Sistema la casa presto e occhio alle truffe sugli affitti, tieni d'occhio le tue cose sui bus affollati come il 64, e porta acqua d'estate usando i nasoni gratuiti. Metti scarpe comode: camminerai tanto.
Riempi la borraccia ai nasoni delle fontanelle di strada invece di comprare acqua nella calura estiva.
Fai attenzione a telefono e portafoglio sui bus turistici e attorno alla stazione Termini.
Inizia la ricerca di casa presto e non trasferire mai una caparra prima di vedere l'alloggio di persona.

I recommend the class Financial Markets & Institutions, because you have two midterms with multiple-choice questions and if you pass both you do not have to do the final exam. Mathematical Finance is a pretty though course even if you're pretty good in math.

The rent in Rome is pretty high. The food is obviously amazing cause you're in Italy. Rome is a very safe city. Transportation costs is basically free, because I never bought bus or tram tickets and I never got checked.

yes it was nice to leave there i loved it thanks to my roommates but the housing on itself is really old, lot of problems with fournitures, water, the cold for examples, moreover our receptionists did not talk english at all. Otherwise this little problems, sharing a room with someone is actually is not as bad as i thought it was really fun, we had once a week cleaning ladies and the garden in the residence is big and welcoming. I don’t know if i had the opportunity if i would have taken the same place again but i had a great time there.

Visits all Italie, milan, florence, naples… but i do not recommend bari if its to stay actually there it should be a city where you sleep and then go visit another one. Otherwise all the other cities are so great to visits, the planes are cheap and there is a possibility to take the bus and trains and for non european, france, slovenia are countries that you can easily travel too while in rome.

My place was very close to my university. I recommend to live in Trieste or Parioli. They are both very close about 20min so very cool. Living in a colliding was my first experience of independence and my roommates aren't really clean, plus the appartement has a lot of problems

Don't go to restaurants where waiter are waiting at the front of the restaurant. Except these, Rome is really great.

I didn't go to many events yet, but of you ever come to Rome, here's what I would recommend: Bella Donna (restaurant close to Trevi Fountain and piazza della Spagna)
Ombre Rosse (bar/ restaurant with a really chill vibe with cheap menu and excellent wine ;))
Emporio Brasiliero (close to Termini station, it is the best Brazilian food i ever had)
And lastly, (even though it's not always specifically in Rome) Fervo Fluxo have the best baile funk dj mix, I really had the best time

My campus (lingue letterature e culture straniere) was okay. You will have to be patient and ready to spend a good amount of time looking for your answers because the administration won't be so much helpful. But I feel like Roma Tre, especially (because it's my pov) for those who study languages is a cool university, with a good variety of classes.
But don't expect to be bestie with italian people because they just don't care about you 😬

So for me, transports were actually decent. Before coming i heard people say busses are the worst they never come... but for me it's really not that bad (i guess I'm used to worst haha), you just have to be well informed. So I would recommend "probus Roma" because the timing is accurate. You also have to know that strikes are pretty common here (basically every friday). As a black person, in my experience (emphasis on my) i didn't feel any kind of racism (not more that i would usually). For me and for now, Rome has been pretty safe. I feel like Rome is cheaper than Paris in terms of groceries and life in general (you just have, with the time find the good places). Food, as you can imagine, is amazing. Weather in Rome is actually warmer than what I'm used to, so you can forget your big fat sweater, you won't need it here.

Just enjoy, at your own scale and pace. If you're not a party animal, just don't go to so many events. Your experience doesn't have to look like everyone else. If you're just a chill person, go do chill things that will make YOU happy. I swear you will have a great experience because it will be yours, it will be the one you made for you and not for others.
