Bangalore a inventé la scène bière artisanale de l'Inde, et des brewpubs comme Toit à Indiranagar et Arbor Brewing sont des institutions étudiantes. Church Street, Koramangala et Indiranagar bourdonnent de cafés, de musique live et de bouffe pas chère, et la culture jeune boostée par la tech signifie des concerts, des quiz et des meetups chaque semaine. Note juste que les bars ont tendance à fermer vers 1h du matin selon les règles de la ville.

Les bars ferment relativement tôt, donc les soirées commencent plus tôt que tu ne le penses
Bangalore est plus chère que la plupart des villes indiennes mais reste très abordable, donc environ 400 à 750 euros (environ 36 000 à 68 000 roupies) par mois couvrent un appart en coloc ou un PG, la bouffe et le transport. La street food et les cantines darshini sont pas chères, tandis que la scène bière artisanale et café est là où ton budget s'évapore en silence. Le loyer dans les quartiers centraux comme Indiranagar est la principale dépense.
Un masala dosa dans un darshini coûte 40 à 70 roupies, bien en dessous d'un euro
Une chambre en PG (paying-guest) avec repas tourne autour de 8 000 à 15 000 roupies par mois

Le Namma Metro (les lignes Purple et Green) est propre, pas cher et en expansion, mais il ne va pas encore partout, donc tu le combineras avec des autos et des applis de VTC. Utilise Ola, Uber, les moto-taxis Rapido ou l'appli d'autos Namma Yatri, et insiste pour le compteur ou un tarif convenu. Le trafic est légendaire, donc prévois tes trajets avec une bonne marge.
Recharge une carte Namma Metro pour les lignes Purple et Green

L'Indian Institute of Science (IISc) est la première institution de recherche de l'Inde, l'IIM Bangalore une école de commerce de premier plan, et NLSIU la meilleure école de droit du pays. Ajoute Christ University, PES et IIIT-B et tu obtiens un écosystème académique dense et de haute qualité. Beaucoup ont des accords d'échange et enseignent en anglais, la principale langue de l'enseignement supérieur en Inde.
L'IISc et l'IIM Bangalore ancrent la scène recherche et école de commerce
Christ University est un hôte populaire et bien organisé pour les étudiants en échange
Quelle que soit ta nationalité, sauf si tu as un passeport indien ou une carte OCI, tu as besoin d'un Student Visa organisé avant de partir. Un visa touristique ou un e-Tourist visa ne couvre pas un semestre d'inscription. Tu fais la demande via une ambassade ou un consulat indien, ou le portail officiel Indian Visa Online, avec ta lettre d'admission, une preuve de fonds, les détails de ton logement et des photos passeport. Le coût exact, le délai de traitement et la possibilité de tout faire en ligne dépendent tous de ta nationalité, donc lance-toi six à huit semaines à l'avance.
Le truc que les étudiants oublient : si ton visa est valide plus de 180 jours, tu dois t'enregistrer auprès du FRRO local (Foreigners Regional Registration Office) dans les 14 jours suivant ton arrivée. Le bureau international de ton université t'accompagne, mais fais-le à temps, rate le délai et tu risques des amendes.

La cuisine sud-indienne est le plaisir du quotidien : masala dosa croustillant, idli moelleux et café filtre corsé chez des légendes comme Vidyarthi Bhavan, MTR et CTR. Au-delà de ça, Bangalore est un melting-pot, avec le biryani andhra, les thalis nord-indiens et des cafés du monde entier qui prospèrent tous. Mange avec la main droite, et goûte le benne (beurre) dosa local.

Explore la rue de bouffe VV Puram le soir pour des snacks locaux pas chers
Indiranagar et Koramangala sont les berceaux branchés des cafés et des bars où beaucoup d'étudiants veulent vivre. Jayanagar et Malleshwaram sont plus anciens, plus verts et plus traditionnels avec de super marchés, tandis que Whitefield et Electronic City sont des pôles tech excentrés, pratiques seulement si ton campus est là-bas. Le centre MG Road et Brigade Road couvrent shopping et vie nocturne.

Bangalore est une super base pour le sud de l'Inde. Mysore et son palais sont à trois heures, les collines à café de Coorg à environ cinq, et Nandi Hills un trip populaire de deux heures pour le lever de soleil. Pour de plus gros week-ends, les ruines de Hampi sont à un train de nuit, et les plages de Gokarna à un bus de nuit.
Le palais de Mysore : environ 3 heures en train ou en voiture
Le pays du café de Coorg (Kodagu) : environ 5 heures pour un week-end en montagne

Convenez toujours d'un tarif d'auto ou insiste pour le compteur, et préfère les VTC via appli pour éviter de marchander. Le trafic fait de la distance ton ennemi, donc vis près de ton campus si tu peux. Garde une gourde réutilisable mais tiens-toi à l'eau filtrée ou en bouteille, et télécharge les applis Namma Yatri et Swiggy dès le premier jour pour le transport et la bouffe.
Insiste pour le compteur dans les autos, ou réserve via Namma Yatri pour éviter les surfacturations

I travelled almost all India. In night buses i did everything : Pondicherry, Kochin, Goa, Tamil Nadu. I went to Ladakh for a trek, also Mumbai, Delhi, Jaiphur, Udaipur, Mysore etcc. Buses and trains are cheap. Planes are a little bit more expensive but its okay.

no, i don’t recommend it, there is a curfew that starts a 10pm to 5:30 am, so can’t hangout and come back when you want. moreover, the manager is not helpful. also you can’t smoke and drink.

3/4 hour from school by school bus, many university accommodations are there so good atmosphere

the positive sides: not very expensive given that all meals and laundry are also included in the price on the other hand the food is not of very good quality and the accommodation is starting to lose value, many shared accommodations are being created instead. I do not recommend accommodation next to the school, they have a really bad reputation but shared accommodation or other university accommodations are good. for my part I think that university accommodations like Sandhya PG or others are good, there are several safety rules to respect but much less than accommodations on campus and this allows you to have moments of conviviality during meals but also to rest in your room

honestly I followed my friends and trusted them, I totally forgot the names of the bars or whatever but everything is quite far from everything, it quickly takes 1 hour to go anywhere in the city (and that's normal) but the evenings are very nice, just the clubs close around 1 a.m.

I think it's quite hard to say which course to take, for the same subject there are different teachers so the courses are really different, I really advise you to take the time and talk with the people around you. The students and teachers are really very kind and are very welcoming so don't hesitate to ask the teachers for details on the course and the students for the feeling and learning. But overall you will have a lot of work but since we are exchange students we have less pressure than the others

The school was exceptional, I think however that it is becoming more and more complicated to pay in cash, but you can only pay in cash because French credit cards do not work in the establishment. But I think that I would have chosen this school anyway. It is really a chance to be able to discover India in this way, there are students who come from everywhere and many festivals are celebrated within the school grounds. It is really wonderful to be able to discover another way of thinking and doing things and the people are really very welcoming

I really recommend you go to Munnar, it's an exceptional place. Walks in the tea fields. Then I really liked Allepey (overall I recommend you go to Kerala) and if you want to surf or learn to surf go to Udupi! A little less people than in Goa so you have more freedom to do it and the atmosphere is really nice

It's quite complicated to live in this city because it takes at least 1h30 minimum to go somewhere in the city and I often find traveling very tiring because there is a lot of noise and traffic but there are really beautiful places to see and great restaurants, bars and clubs!

remember to look at what season you are going in, depending on you can have a lot of rain. and even if it can be a dangerous place apply every precaution given by people and everything will be fine, the people at the school are really very kind and you can really make good friends. enjoy life, have fun and take care of yourself! always listen to the recommendations of your friends and locals, they know the customs and surroundings better and will know how to avoid unnecessary trouble (I ended up in a slum chased by a dog because I hadn't listened to a local at one point...) so be careful and say yes to every outing, suggest and have fun!
