Aquí te llevas un ambiente estudiantil masivo y sociable en una ciudad famosa por su calidez y su música, con precios más bajos que Edimburgo. Es también la puerta más rápida a las Highlands, así que los findes al aire libre son pan comido.
El West End alrededor de Byres Road es el corazón estudiantil, lleno de pubs, cafeterías y Ashton Lane. La escena de música en directo es de primer nivel, desde locales diminutos hasta el legendario Barrowland.
Glasgow ofrece muy buena relación calidad-precio para ser una gran ciudad del Reino Unido, con alquileres más baratos que Edimburgo y una comida famosa por lo económica. El metro Subway y los restaurantes de curry hacen rendir el presupuesto de maravilla.
El West End es la típica zona estudiantil cerca de Glasgow Uni, mientras que el Southside y Dennistoun son más baratos y están en pleno auge. Dónde vives suele depender de tu universidad.
El Subway circular recorre el centro y el West End, respaldado por la mayor red de trenes de cercanías del Reino Unido fuera de Londres. Los autobuses cubren el resto.
Glasgow tiene una gran variedad de universidades y una comunidad internacional grande. El año académico sigue el patrón de semestres escocés.
Desde el Brexit, los ciudadanos de la UE ya no tienen libre circulación, así que la mayoría de estudiantes no irlandeses necesitan permiso para estudiar. Para un intercambio de hasta seis meses, a menudo puedes entrar por la vía Short-term study o simplemente como Standard Visitor, según tu nacionalidad y la duración del curso. Para un año completo necesitarás un Student visa patrocinado por tu universidad anfitriona.
Lo que te aplica depende por completo de tu pasaporte, así que confírmalo pronto con la universidad y la guía oficial del gobierno británico. El Student visa necesita una referencia CAS de tu uni, justificante de fondos y normalmente el recargo de sanidad para inmigración, así que presupuesta tiempo y dinero para ello.
Glasgow se toma muy en serio su comida y su cultura, desde una escena de curry famosísima hasta museos gratis de primer nivel. Los placeres del día a día son baratos y contundentes.
El West End, el centro y el Southside tienen cada uno su propio carácter y su propio rango de precios. Finnieston se ha convertido en el favorito para comer.
Glasgow es el punto de partida más rápido hacia las Highlands y las islas, con Edimburgo también cerca. Algunos trayectos en tren son atracciones en sí mismos.
El acento cuesta un poco pillarle el truco, pero la bienvenida es genuina. Trae ropa impermeable y ten cuidado con las rivalidades futbolísticas.

Yes because the building is very modern with everything you need (your own bathroom, well equiped shared kitchen). However, if you can get the university accomodation go for it. It make the experience 10x more fun.

There are so many pubs in Glasgow. I would recommend Hillhead Book Club (on thursdays for karaoke nights), Kitty O Sheas (for the live music), and Vodka Wodka for the student vibes.

Just choose what you're interested in and everything should go well.

The campus is big but the main building is stunning. There are loads of study spaces. Yes I would pick the same uni again.

From Glasgow you can visit many cities like Stirling or Edinburgh by taking the train (less that 20£ for a day trip). There are also many parks like Pollock Park where you can see highland cows. There are also many hikes around Glasgow that are accessible by bus.

The transports are easy to use but they don't run during the night, so after a night out you will have to walk are take a taxi. The west end and city center are safe to walk in late at night but if you have to cross the city it can be dangereous (like every big city). It rains a lot and there are a lot of puddles so bring boots.
Go to the association/sport club fair at the start of the semester and join a club !! I joined the ski club as a competitive member and it's how I met all my friends. Sport wednesdays go crazy too

Right next to the uni and 10min (not even) from the city centre and 5min from the main bus station

Yes ! You’ll have flatmates so you need to be okay with sharing kitchen, bathroom and shower but you’ll have your own bedroom and sink. Also I think it is crucial to encounter people. I know some who prefered having their own apartment etc but they struggled to meet other internationnal students. Also it is next to everything in the city so really usefull. i really liked the experience and created cool friendships !

Loads of clubs and pubs open everyday (more in the end of the week but still) My tops are Club - The Buff, Manuka Bars / pubs - Felson (chill, pool etc), Malone’s

You have plenty of classes to choose between. I would recommend having a funnier one (betwsen marketing theories I had sport and media)

Amazing campus with big library where to work etc. Registration super easy. The uni sends a lot of emails so you’re not on your own. Also there is an assignement help department to help you in preparing exams or essays etc. Would recommend going

Isle of skye, Harry Potter train, Edinburgh (1h15-30 from glasgow, max 10pounds by bus). Would recommend taking the train and explore cities even if it is less famous. Went on tours with some companies cause without a car (under 25 it is expensive) it is complicated.

You’ll walk a lot but it is a nice city and think about going out with something for the rain, in 5min it can go from sunny to rainy ahah
In the GCU residence for student, there’s a social space (working, pool, ping pong, cinema room) very cool to change from working in the library, bedroom, kitchen or coffee shop. And really cool to spend time with friends without having to go out

Yes, it was a pleasant experience. The student residence is located next to the campus and there are many activities offered to meet other students. The classes were interesting and the teachers are friendly. Paisley is a beautiful, quiet town close to Glasgow. I recommend it !

There are a few bars and nightclubs in Paisley, but the town is rather quiet in the evenings. It is recommended to go out in Glasgow, which is livelier and easily accessible by public transport.

There are a lot of courses and possibilities. I really enjoyed Marketing and leadership courses.

The Paisley campus is great: it's big but easy to get to and it's easy to find your way around. There are lots of people and students available to help you. There's a large library, a cafeteria, and a gym available. It's a very nice campus. There are lots of different communities, which is great for meeting people from different cultures.

Paisley has a good range of transport options (train, bus, plane), and the town is a 10-minute train ride from Glasgow. However, traveling in Scotland is relatively expensive. Major cities are well-connected, but if you want to travel within the country, it's recommended to have a car (given that renting a car in Scotland is complicated and expensive). Therefore, you'll need to plan ahead to book trains and budget for your travels.

Paisley is a very quiet and relatively safe town. Glasgow, like all big cities, is dynamic and lively. Some places are to be avoided, but the majority of people are friendly. The Scots are a little cold at first, but remain very welcoming.
I recommend purchasing a train pass, which will save you a lot of money on travel, or renting a car if possible. It's important to book your trips well in advance to avoid excessively high prices. I recommend traveling to the north of Scotland, hiking, and visiting castles. Finally, I recommend seeing Edinburgh over several days because it's a very rich city with many things to see and museums to visit.

The Wetherspoons are crazy, the Irish Pubs too. You have to start very early your nights cause everyone is in his bed at 2 or 3 am so I am able to recommend only bars

The campus is not very cool, I didn't find any formations about the come to school but the teachers are OK. Not at all

good to discover the British islands, amazing to go Hiking and discover the highlands and lowlands but except that its not easy to take the planed go see the sun in southern Europe

So everyone is nice plus if you are French you will be loved by everyone so don't hesitate to meet someScottish lads and they will propose you rapidly some activities with them !
The electricity has to be paid by cards you buy at the post Office, so it's not like in France when you pay at the end of the month what you consumed. Except that go discover the lakes, campaign and Higlands of Scotland, go there, sleep there and be close to the nature which is incredible there :).
