I would recommend taking classes in English because it's generally easier. However, most Mexican students only take classes in Spanish, so if your goal is to immerse yourself in the local culture and improve your Spanish, I would recommend choosing Spanish-taught courses.
On the other hand, if you want to meet and spend more time with international students, English classes are the better option.

During my exchange, I had the opportunity to travel all around Mexico. I visited places such as Santiago de Querétaro, Mexico City, the Yucatán Peninsula, Oaxaca, Puerto Escondido, La Paz, and many others.
My favorite destinations were definitely La Paz (I highly recommend renting a car to explore the surrounding beaches), Oaxaca, Puerto Escondido, and Bacalar, which is absolutely amazing. Each destination offers a unique experience, from incredible landscapes and beaches to rich culture and amazing local food.

Monterrey can feel a little boring if you don't take the opportunity to travel, especially because the weather can be quite unpredictable. However, the city itself has some great places to explore, particularly Barrio Antiguo, which is one of the liveliest and most charming areas.
If you are living in San Pedro or La Fama, I also recommend spending time in downtown San Pedro. Every Sunday, there is a local market that is definitely worth visiting.
Keep in mind that getting to downtown Monterrey can become expensive over time, especially if you rely on Uber, as the distance is quite long and traffic is often heavy.

Yes! I highly recommend it. It was a fairly large house with 3 bedrooms. It was very well equipped and comfortable with plenty of space and a terrace. The la flores were very nice and help full. If I have to stay more time I wouldn’t hesitate to keep this house.

There are lots of options for parties. Every wednesdays there was a before in Mercado Revolucion (a space mainly for international students but every people is welcomed) and then an after at the Normal, a nightclub. It was very great but you have lots of other options to going out. The Strana and the Empire are my favorite after the Normal.

I am in International Business and when I realized my courses sélection I took some courses of another career like « introduction to econometrics » and « organizational business processes ». I didn’t recommend these courses if you are not in engineer because it was very difficult with strong bases. The other courses were very good. I recommend taking « Strategy and talent ».

Yesss! The campus of Monterrey is amazing. There are lot of space, animals, greenery and that makes the expérience very comfortable and pleasant. There are also lots of animations and activités organised during the semester and that is pretty. You have also access to lots of space for doing sport for free. The registration is pretty easy, just make sure to meet the deadlines and be carefull with the course sélection. You have to be connected on time to have you desired courses. I stay for one year and I decided to change of campus to discover other things but I really recommend the one of Monterrey!

I think Monterrey has not the best localisation for travelling but there are lots of opportunities. Even in the city you can go for lots of hikings that are very good like « Cerro de la Silla ». It is wonderfull !! My favorite travelling was in Puerto Vallarta. Taking flights is very easy there are lots of flights availiable. I advice you to anticipate your travels and don’t miss the check-in…

For the transports, It's really not advisable to take public transportation. Use Uber or Didi instead, which are very inexpensive. For the cost of living, I find that groceries are quite expensive. Keep in mind that Monterrey is a very developed city, and therefore some prices are high compared to other Mexican cities. However, there are many activities with very reasonable prices (cinema, bowling, etc.). If you want to order food, I recommend Rappi and for the flights, trip.com. I think it's important to get moving and do activities, go out, etc. to make the most of the experience! And above all, don't hesitate to reach out to others! Mexicans are incredibly welcoming.

I would definitevly recommend to go in VILLAS TEC! or an Airbnb close to Tec..
Honestly, the only two reason why I don't recommend are :
- You are a foreigner.. You are going to have a lot of success with mexican girls/guys... If you live in ResidenciasTec, I will never be able to invite your girls, flirts, dates.. in your place... So think about it, if you want to have some experiences with latinas/latinos (really easy here)
- I thought by being in the university student residences I would speak a lot with others and make me some friends, but not really, not that much...
The only reason why I would recommend is because it's cheap and close to Tec...

It's so amazing.. so many parties, nightclubs, bars, fiestas latinas in Barrio Antiguo...
BUT don't make the same mistake than me: as soon as possible, from the beginning, make you some international friends, as you they are all looking for travelling and partying... (don't favour Mexicans because they NEVER hang out)
There are a lot of amazing parties on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday... A really recommend you to go in Barrio Antiguo for latina's culture, latina's musics and danses...
on each Wednesday there is an event named GoodLife (they have a whatsapp group)
ALSO travel a lot!! and discover the areas of Monterrey: Saltillo, Santiago, Cuatro CIenegas..

I would definitely recommend going for residences near TEC, there are some great ones for the same price I paid, that have more amenities!Also, living near TEC while being at UDEM was both something great and a bit stupid. There are more people to meet at TEC, and campus which I was lucky to have access to thanks to my TEC friends was better overall but I was never with UDEM people, and it was a 20 euro budget each week to go to UDEM by Uber

Thereis not much to see in the city, it is very recent and a lot for industry : business. There is only few street that are old (Barrio Antiguo). Perfect for hiking, the city is surrounded by the mountains.

I would definitely recommend. We live near the owner who was extremely helpful whenever we needed something. House is very big, has a pool ! The location is good and we had very nice rooms.

Welche Kurse empfiehlst du… oder eher nicht?
I recommend Sales Intelligence, the teacher was very fun and the course was interactive. I also recommend Leadership in organizations as it is very interesting. I wouldn’t recommend as much International negotiations as I wasn’t a fan of the teacher.

Campus is great ! A lot of restaurants (subway, starbucks, tim hortons, many others) Gym is very nice with a great view. I would definitely pick the same uni again !

We traveled a lot here. Our best destination was Isla Holbox which is near Cancun ! We also did Baja california, isla mujeres, playa del carmen, Puerto Vallarta. The flights are cheap if you look a bit in advance and don’t hesitate to use the buses like ADO to travel( very confortable and cheap)

Was musst du unbedingt wissen für dein bestes Leben in Monterrey?
Transport mainly Uber it’s very cheap and easy ! San Pedro is the « safest » neighborhood with all the bars and Clubs. You should visit Bario Antiguo very nice and pretty with bars too. Monterrey is a huge city so you don’t walk much and there can be some traffic around peak hours
